Eduardo-bashing just isn't cricket
Joel Kurta   |  13 Sep 2009
Cricket has long been used as a symbolic representation of the values of fair play, something of an English obsession. It is interesting then that the sport which is chosen to epitomise these values was invented by the English but popularised throughout the then 'barbaric' world on the back of colonialism and the British empire.   1
Plymouth Argyle
Paul Sturrock: An early managerial casualty?
Andy Tipp   |  24 Aug 2009
The new Championship season is still in its infancy, yet a steadily growing number of Plymouth's supporters are calling for an immediate end to manager Paul Sturrock's second spell in charge of the Pilgrims. Why? Well, Plymouth are without a win so far this campaign, having been unceremoniously dumped out of the Carling Cup by lower-league Gillingham and having picked up just two points from their opening four league matches.   0
Leicester City
125 years of my beautiful Leicester City (not a history lesson)
Dan Watts   |  19 Aug 2009
In our 125th anniversary year, Leicester City find themselves in the second tier of English football. We’ve been here before lots of times.   1
Southampton
The only way is up for Southampton. Surely?
Daniel Chippett   |  19 Aug 2009
So here we go again, the football league season is barely three games old and already my proud chimes of hope, expectation, optimism blah blah blah have begun to deflate. Welcome to the life of being a Southampton fan.   7
Manchester City
Goals are the key as Spurs and Man City look to upset the big four
Nick Woolnough   |  18 Aug 2009
Sitting proudly in top spot with a goal difference of +5, Arsenal will undoubtedly be delighted with the way in which the opening weekend of the Barclay’s Premier League panned out. For Chelsea, Manchester United and most of all, Liverpool, however, day one didn’t prove to be quite so rosy.   4
Tottenham Hotspur
"This could be our year" (the Tottenham mantra)
Philip Woodward   |  12 Aug 2009
Feel the optimism, brethren. Feel the optimism.   0

Loss of Alonso could cause misery on the Mersey
Philip Woodward   |  05 Aug 2009
Step outside. If you can hear a loud exhalation - nay, sigh of relief, coupled with the fainter wailings of lovelorn Scousers, that’s the sound of Britain reacting to one of the summer’s most drawn-out and irritating transfers finally being laid to rest.   0

‘Always Believe’- A shot in the foot that Basso couldn’t save himself from
Doug Stewart   |  27 Jul 2009
34-year-old Championship goalkeeper seeks Premiership club with first team football to offer. ...doesn’t sound like a promising advert for any lonely hearts column.   0
Notts County
Romantic Eriksson picked up by Magpies
Philip Woodward   |  23 Jul 2009
The little man's popped up again. Sven-Goran Eriksson, the bookish and mild mannered former England manager, has re-ignited his love affair with English football.   172
Manchester United
Not quite the horror summer for Manchester United
Tom O'Meara   |  23 Jul 2009
From an outsider’s point of view, it would seem to have been a horror summer for Manchester United. The best player in the world out the door, a fan’s favourite turning to the dark-side and the signing of an ageing, injury prone forward whose previous includes spending the best part of a decade at a club from the other end of East Lancs.   1
