Eduardo-bashing just isn't cricket
|
Cricket has long been used as a symbolic representation of the values of fair play, something of an English obsession. It is interesting then that the sport which is chosen to epitomise these values was invented by the English but popularised throughout the then 'barbaric' world on the back of colonialism and the British empire. No prizes for spotting the contradiction here. The legacy of English and indeed Christian morality is caked in the blood of foreigners.

Sitting proudly in top spot with a goal difference of +5, Arsenal will undoubtedly be delighted with the way in which the opening weekend of the Barclay’s Premier League panned out. For Chelsea, Manchester United and most of all, Liverpool, however, day one didn’t prove to be quite so rosy.
